How to Measure Mosquito Screens Yourself

To order a mosquito screen, you need to take accurate measurements of your window or door opening. You can easily do this yourself using a measuring tape and a few minutes of your time.

1. Determine the Installation Type

on a plastic window (outside) — standard frame type;
on a balcony door — hinged or magnetic door screen;
inside the opening — roller or pleated screen.

2. Measuring a Frame Screen

Measure the width and height of the glass opening (without seals);
Add 20–25 mm on each side for mounting allowance;
Record the result in millimeters (e.g., 740 × 1240 mm).

3. Measuring a Door Screen

Measure the width and height inside the door frame;
Add 10–15 mm for tight fitting;
Note the opening direction (outward or inward).

4. Measuring a Roller Screen

Measure the width and height along the outer edge where the box will be mounted;
No extra allowance is needed — the system includes its own frame.

5. Check Geometry

Ensure both diagonals are equal (difference not more than 5 mm). If misaligned, contact a technician.

Mosquito Screen Installation Guide

A mosquito screen is a simple and effective way to protect your home from insects, dust, and pollen. Zamer manufactures custom-sized screens that are easy to install yourself — no special tools required.

1. Preparation

Clean the window frame from dust and dirt;
Make sure the surface is dry and undamaged;
Prepare the brackets (Z-shaped hooks or spring clips), a screwdriver, and a tape measure.

2. Installing a Frame Screen

Turn the mounting hooks horizontally;
Place the screen in the window opening so that the frame fits evenly onto the seal;
Rotate the hooks vertically to secure the frame;
Ensure the screen is level and doesn’t move when pressed lightly.

3. Installing a Door Screen

Position the door screen in the opening;
Attach the hinges on one side of the frame evenly;
Install the magnet or latch on the opposite side for a tight seal;
Check that the door opens and closes smoothly.

4. Installing a Roller Screen

Attach the cassette at the top or side of the opening using mounting clips;
Install the side rails and secure them with screws;
Ensure the screen rolls up and down smoothly without jamming;
Adjust spring tension if necessary.

5. Maintenance Tips

Clean the screen 2–3 times per season using a soft sponge or vacuum cleaner;
During winter, remove and store it in a dry place;
Avoid using strong cleaning agents or alcohol.
